David Donnellan manages golf instruction and player development programs at Hyannis Golf Course and Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course on Cape Cod. Interested golfers can choose to take private, semi- private, group, or custom made lessons. Junior golf camps are available from April- November. Both golf courses offer well appointed practice areas including a private grass driving range and short game exclusively available for private instruction at Hyannis GC.
David has over 20 years experience in the golf industry and has a proven track record of developing successful programs for golfers of all ages and abilities. Donnellan began his career as an assistant professional at The Newport Beach Country Club in Newport Beach, California then moved to southern Sweden and was director of golf at Österlens Golfklubb ( www.osterlensgk.se) and head professional for Stiby Golfklubb (www.stibygolf.se).
His succesful teaching philosophy is based on mutual accountability. ‘ It is simple. I hold myself responsible for my students’ improvement while requiring that they take ownership of their game.’
Donnellan’s teaching style has been influenced by a number of leading golf teachers and PGA members. Having attended many PGA educational seminars and PGA Teaching and Coaching Summits in Sweden, David identifies Chuck Hogan, Chuck Cook, Henry Reis, Mike Adams, Harold Swash, and Paul Chek as having provided valuable insights and knowledge concerning the mental and physical in the golf swing. Donnellan also names past NEPGA president Jim Lane, PGA life member, Monty Blodgett and LPGA life member and former LPGA tour player, Pam Higgins as his professional mentors.
